Suites come in two colors: red and black. However, the color of the suite has no meaning in poker. Each suite is of equal value. Or in other words, having a single seven of hearts is no better than having a seven of clubs.

There are thirteen cards in a suite. They are numbered in order from 2 to 10, and then Jack, Queen, King and Ace. In the game of poker, Ace is high and 2 is low. (With the exception of making a straight, in which case Ace can be high or low.) The card's number is also called it's rank.
